The Iranian government plans to beef up security in cities to bring an end to acid attacks on women, the official Islamic Republic News Agency reported, citing Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli.

Authorities don’t have sufficient evidence to charge any of the suspects detained in connection to the attacks, which were first reported this month, Rahmani Fazli said yesterday. Four people have already been released, news website No Andish reported, citing the acting police chief for the province of Esfahan, where the incidents took place.
